ACT FoundationSri Lanka Give

About us

Selfless service, from one trust in 2003 to six districts of Sri Lanka.

ACT Foundation Sri Lanka is part of a global charity community founded by Mohanji. We are run entirely by volunteers who give their time so that donations reach the people they are meant for.

Mission and values

Why we exist

Purpose

To serve humanity, help the helpless, give dignity to the poor and open doors for the less fortunate, wherever in Sri Lanka help is needed most.

Mission

To care for people in hardship, reduce poverty in all its forms and protect the environment, through direct action, education and empowerment.

Vision

A kinder world built on loving, selfless service that lifts both the giver and the receiver, carried by a global community of volunteers.

Our founder

Mohanji

Mohanji founded ACT in 2003 to help people move from selfishness to selflessness. He describes himself as a friend of the world. His central teaching, "Be You", encourages each person to accept and express who they truly are, and he holds non-violence (ahimsa) toward all beings as the highest practice.

Over two decades he has started several global platforms for compassionate service. ACT Foundation is the one dedicated to humanitarian work.

“True wealth is what we give to the earth, not what we take.”Mohanji

Devi Mohan

Global President of ACT Foundation since 2012. She sees volunteers as the heart of the Foundation and believes that serving together changes the lives of both volunteers and the people they serve.
